I needed a power of attorney notarised for property matters in the UK and had no idea where to start. The team explained the entire process clearly — what the document needed to say, what to bring to the appointment, and what would happen after. By the time I arrived, there was nothing unexpected.

Had a statutory declaration that needed attending to on short notice ahead of a court filing deadline. I called the office directly and was given an appointment the following morning. The document was reviewed before my oath was administered and I noticed a potential issue with an exhibit label was spotted and flagged before we proceeded. Efficient and careful.

I used the cross-border pack service for documents I needed in Australia and Germany. What I appreciated was receiving written updates as each document moved through MoFA and the relevant consulates. It was the first time I did not feel completely in the dark while waiting for government processing to complete.

Our company needed board resolutions authenticated for a joint venture registration in the UAE. I was unsure whether our existing resolutions were in the right form for notarisation. The practitioner reviewed them, pointed out a few items that needed to be addressed, and we rescheduled once the documents were corrected. That preliminary review saved a great deal of trouble at the UAE end.

Needed a statutory declaration for a property matter. The process was exactly what it should be — brief, formal, and without unnecessary complication. The preparatory note I received beforehand meant I arrived with everything in order. I have recommended the practice to two colleagues since.

My family relocated to Canada and we had a considerable set of documents to process. The cross-border pack service managed everything from notarisation through to the apostille and consular steps for the different document categories. Knowing who to contact for each update, and actually receiving those updates without having to chase, made a stressful period somewhat more manageable.

Selected Engagement Summaries
These summaries describe the type of situation each engagement addressed. Identifying details are not included.
Estate Administration Across Three Jurisdictions
Cross-Border PackSITUATION
A family managing a deceased estate needed various instruments — a grant of probate, powers of attorney, and declarations — recognised in Malaysia, Australia, and the United Kingdom simultaneously. Each jurisdiction had different authentication requirements, and the family had not previously navigated this process.
WHAT WAS DONE
Each document was notarised with jurisdiction-specific certificates. Australian-bound documents proceeded via apostille following Malaysia's Convention accession. UK-bound documents followed the MoFA and consular legalisation chain. Written progress notes were issued at each stage. The family managed only one point of contact throughout.
RESULT
All instruments accepted at their respective destinations. The estate administration concluded within the timelines required by the overseas courts and registries. No documents were returned for procedural defects. Engagement duration: approximately 11 weeks from first contact to final delivery.
Urgent Affidavit Ahead of Commercial Court Filing
Commissioner for OathsSITUATION
A legal firm required a supporting affidavit attested before a filing deadline the following morning. The affidavit had been prepared the same afternoon and contained an exhibit referencing issue that needed to be resolved before attestation could proceed.
WHAT WAS DONE
An appointment was accommodated on short notice. On review, the exhibit labelling issue was identified and the deponent was guided on the correction required. The corrected document was attested the same afternoon, with the register entry completed in time for the firm to proceed with the filing.
RESULT
Affidavit filed before the deadline. The defect, had it not been caught at review stage, would have required re-execution after filing — a considerably more disruptive outcome. Total appointment time: 40 minutes.
Corporate Expansion — Market Entry Documentation Package
Notarial + ApostilleSITUATION
A mid-sized Malaysian company entering markets in two European countries required authenticated corporate resolutions and powers of attorney in the form acceptable to the local commercial registries. Both target countries are Hague Convention members, so apostille was the applicable authentication route.
WHAT WAS DONE
Corporate resolutions were reviewed for completeness in the required form. Notarisation was completed with a certificate drafted to meet the requirements of both receiving registries. Apostille applications were submitted and tracked. Company received written confirmation at each stage, and the completed pack was delivered with a brief summary note for the company secretary.
RESULT
Both corporate registries accepted the documentation on first submission. No resubmission was required. The company's legal team noted that the preliminary review had identified a formatting variance that would likely have prompted a query from one of the registries. Engagement duration: 6 weeks from instruction to delivery.
